I arrived just as they decided to take our little one off of the ventilator. It was the first time we saw her face w/o any contraptions! She looks just like her big sister, Sofia. Look at her getting real air for about 10 seconds...
Our nurse, Grace, thought it would be a great idea to do Kangaroo Care w/ Adelina if she did well for an hour or so on the CPAP at 25%... it was a go after lunch. 20 minutes w/ Mom breathing 90-100%.
She had minimal apnea at the end of the night and her tolerance for what she had gone through today was wonderful. Her feedings are still going well and she is digesting her residual when it is given back to her.
