Happy 7 weeks Adelina (this would have been our 32 week goal day)
Adelina is gained almost another ounce and we'll round it off as 2lbs 8oz. Although she is packing it on at a normal rate, she does need the extra calorie supplement and the fat mixed in her milk. She has Calvanese in her - she can't sit still and she's always trying to do things before her time. It burns a lot of energy.
Well, we're almost at the 50 day mark and Doc this morning said that they are no longer treating her for lung disease/RDS (Respiratory Distress Syndrome) but treating for apnea. Adelina is desaturating (she doesn't oxygenate her entire body well) a decent amount during the day, but she's recovering on her own. Sometimes it has a lot to do with her reflux and not knowing how to swallow or just moving around like a maniac. Hemoglobin test this evening to see if she needs more iron (she tends to be a bit anemic).
We're still staying away until tomorrow w/ big Sissy still sounding like a barking seal and Mom terrified of spreading germs... No sleep day 4 for Mom, but it's nothing like what Adelina is going through.
