I was able to see Adelina this morning, get her dressed, changed and swaddled and put her in my arms without any help from the nurses. Today was the first day I wasn't scared to hold my baby and didn't spend the entire time staring at the monitor. I realized that now - 2 months later - Adelina is not in pain any more, she's not uncomfortable any more, and she's not under stress any more. That was the best present I could have received today.
Happy Mother's Day to every Mother and anyone missing theirs.
Adelina was 3lbs 4oz and was wearing the shirt Shannon Gilroy bought her. Thanks Gilroys!
Here are four generations of Burns' Ladies and Great Grandpop (on my Mom's side). Can you tell who's only half Irish???
