Day 2 Test Time For Babies

I was able to walk myself down to the NICU (by pushing a wheel chair, but hey) to check on my little wonders after dinner. As you know, I am writing this in retrospect... so we will focus on Addy here.

Test Results:

• EKG showed a small opening (PDA or Patent Ductus Arteriosis) that all babies have has not closed. She will receive a round of indocin - the same medication Jen took to reduce contractions - to help it "relax" so it will close. If this does not work, she will have a surgery to close it
• Blood gases still good and IVs still remain only source of nutrition
• Still receiving insulin for blood sugar
• Apneas frequently, but tires from her activity level
• Remains in open bed for easy access for emergency
